Hua Siong College of Iloilo Junior High School Student Council has achieved a momentous milestone by becoming an officially accredited organization of UNACOM, the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines. This remarkable feat was accomplished through the Philippines’ National Coordinating Body of UNESCO Clubs, underscoring the council’s commitment to excellence, leadership, and service.
Out of 450 applicants nationwide, 130 organizations earned this prestigious recognition, and Hua Siong College of Iloilo proudly stands as the only private high school in Iloilo to achieve this honor. The journey to accreditation spanned four rigorous stages since August, showcasing the organization’s dedication and hard work.
On November 29, 2024, during the International Assembly of Youth for UNESCO, at the Citystate Asturias Hotel in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, 11 outstanding officers from both campuses, along with their devoted student council advisor, officially received the Certificate of Accreditation.
This recognition reflects the council’s unwavering commitment to upholding the values of UNESCO—promoting education, cultural heritage, and global citizenship.
