Little Phoenix Hua Siong Preschool is a department that nurtures smart and happy children of character. We focus not only on academics but also on the emotional well-being of our learners. In Little Phoenix, we design to forward our core values, nurture learner agencies, build positive relationships, use appropriate technology tools, give meaningful and relevant assessments, and have a balance of “We Do” and self-paced “I Do” learning.

Little Phoenix Hua Siong Preschool’s progressive way of teaching propels learners’ interest that makes our learners enjoy and have fun in school. We develop holistic learners that could be a great contribution to society in the future.

We prioritize the welfare of our learners by making sure that they are provided with love and care and letting them feel they are in a good and safe environment. Hands-on activities and integrating lessons through play will make our learners excited about going to school every day.

Little Phoenix Hua Siong Preschool is a department with a vision of having a fun learning institution that enables a child to become a holistic learner imbued with Filipino and Chinese values; ready to face the challenges of the future. With that, we provide learners with fun and value-focused learning experiences through play, to enable them to enjoy their childhood and achieve their maximum potential.

It is a department with passionate and hardworking teachers who puts the Little Phoenixes on top of their top priority. It is a department that is safe, healthy, and productive dedicated to offering not just the good but the best to our young learners. We develop learners that are smart, who could lay the groundwork for tomorrow’s communities. Happy learners for a stronger community and children of character that could give back to the community.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

True to our motto of nurturing smart and happy children of character, we, in Little Phoenix Hua Siong Preschool employ a Progressive Education approach. Our curriculum is based on the principle that education must prepare learners for active participation to become globally competitive individuals of society.

We employ fun and relevant learning activities and experiences to our learners to nurture and support their curiosity while tapping into their utmost potential. This means rather than presenting facts and ideas to our young learners, we encourage them to create their own understanding and foster their self-paced learning all the while maintaining the quality Chinese-Filipino education that Hua Siong is known for.

We have reading programs such as D.E.A.R. with Mommy which stands for (Drop Everything and Read with Mommy) which allows our learners 5 minutes of daily reading time with their parents, thus strengthening the bond of healthy home relationships. Here in Little Phoenix Hua Siong Preschool, our vision and mission are grounded in the belief that we should nurture both the learners’ academic growth and their socio-emotional well-being. We have adopted such goals even in this new age of education, we have successfully modified our curriculum to best fit the current online educational setting. We conducted virtual monthivities, virtual celebrations, all of which have proven to be a huge success. We established online activities and even opened to Non-Hua Siong learners which have been received favorably. Whether it be face-to-face, online learning, or hybrid, we are ready.

TEACHING STAFF

Qualified and motivated teachers with a perfect blend of knowledge, quality, and patience. Little Phoenix provides modern facilities and state-of-the-art software such as ClassDojo and Zoom applications to enable the learners to learn well and prepare learners to face the challenges of the competitive world. In Little Phoenix, we organize circle time before conducting the regular classes daily. This is to develop learners’ routines, prepare them emotionally before their classes, and generate confidence and dynamism in their personalities.

We also have Fun Friday Integrated Activities where teachers provide learners a day to learn about the “Value of the Week” through circle time, storytelling, and art and craft activities. To create awareness of the rich tradition and culture of different countries among learners, we also conduct fun-learning virtual activities aligned to monthly celebrations. We also have our Red Scissors Project which aims to develop the fine- motor skills and eye-hand coordination of learners. Trash to Class for Toddlers is also practiced where learners know the value of trash and transform such into creative tabletop manipulatives and artworks.

Non-Graded Evaluation is also conducted a week before the Assessment Week to ensure all learners have attained the most essential learning competencies. Remedial classes are conducted on learners who did not pass the Non-Graded Evaluation. To ensure the learner’s diversity, Individualized administration of Quarterly Assessment is also conducted.

Phoenix Graders Hua Siong Grade School

With Hua Siong’s aim for greatness to bring out talents and promote optimum child development through a holistic curriculum that provides an enhanced Dep Ed K-12 curriculum for Grades 1-6.

We are committed to providing innovative educational programs and timely and relevant support for parents and equipping our learners’ relevant 21st-century skills, empowering the next generation of transformational leaders who are globally competitive and are ready to face the challenges of the future.

Hua Siong College of Iloilo acknowledges that the current COVID-19 crisis presents many challenges across borders, creating conflicts, raising fears, and building uncertainties for what’s ahead. However, the school believes that learning must keep going, regardless of the constraints we face. Thus, we need to bring learning to the learners instead of the learners to learning.”

Phoenix Graders, under the umbrella of the Red Phoenix Miles, employs both the synchronous and asynchronous modes of learning that offer contextualized learner-centered experiences through various online tools and learning management systems that are flexible and suited to the needs of the individual learner.

Junior High School Department

The fundamental objective of the JHS Department is to nurture holistic learners who uphold the school’s mission, vision, and core values of Diligence, Sincerity, Loyalty, and Courage. This ideates learners to be readily equipped with knowledge, skills, and character making them globally competitive. Through the years, the Department excels in the local, regional, and international arena in academics, sports, and cultural contests.

These achievements lead the school to the pedestal of success making it the Realm of the Red Phoenix, Birthplace of Excellence, and the Home of the Champions. Likewise, the Department is committed to continuously providing 21st-century training and learning under the k-12 curriculum of the Department of Education (DepEd) by designing learning opportunities and giving real-life goals where learners will have the chance to perceive the school setting as a training ground for the future.

Due to the emergence of Covid-19, the world is shaken and it changes the movement of the society and the economy. It leads to the closure of various institutions and establishments. Nevertheless, this social phenomenon does not stop the Department in particular and the school in general to provide quality education in the midst of the global pandemic.

Through the school’s innovative online learning platform, Red Phoenix MILES (Maximum Impact Learning Solution), quality education is still delivered to the learners right in the comfort of their homes. Furthermore, Online Distance Learning (ODL), Homeschool Education, and Blended Learning are the school’s modes of instruction. Along with the sudden shift in the educational setup, new talents and skills of the learners and teachers have been surprisingly unfolded. It only proves that the Department and the entire school can easily adapt to the ongoing challenges, and will always strive for greatness nothing less.

Senior High School Department

Hua Siong College of Iloilo Senior High School is committed to nurturing well-rounded individuals equipped with 21st Century skills and imbued with the school’s guiding principles of Diligence, Sincerity, Loyalty, Courage that will empower learners to take on the challenge of tertiary education. Its goal is to pursue quality and excellence in programs and services by molding learners to become creative problem-solvers, catalysts of change, and productive citizens of the country.

Hua Siong College of Iloilo Senior High School Department academic programs have common Core subjects that are aligned with the Department of Education’s curriculum guides, as well as contextualized subjects or those that are common to all strands but are given a particular bend according to the nature of the strand. Each strand likewise has specialized subjects that prepare the learners for the tertiary program they intend to pursue. Lessons are delivered by excellent and nurturing faculty members with the use of the powerful and latest educational technology.

Hua Siong College of Iloilo Senior High School (SHS), a two-year specialized upper secondary program, aims to produce life-long learners equipped with mastery of 21st-century skills and concepts to ensure employability and preparedness for college studies. Under the school’s academic track are two strands being offered: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM). The school offers a sophisticated program anchored on the Department of Education’s SHS curriculum, which mainly focuses on subjects that provide relevant and authentic experiences attuned to real-world settings.  

Here in Hua Siong, courses are carefully designed to make sure that learning is holistic. The curriculum is constantly revisited to ensure its adherence to the dynamic requirements of 21st-century learners.

HSCI – SHS encompasses Grades 11 and 12 of Hua Siong College of Iloilo’s Basic Education that offers programs for the following STRANDS under the ACADEMIC TRACK:

  • Accountancy, Business and Management Strand (ABM)
  • Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Strand (STEM)

More than a year into the COVID-19 pandemic, the institution has proved that no global crisis can hamper the continuity of the teaching and learning process. To make quality education suitable and within reach for Senior High School learners, the school switched from traditional methodologies to virtual and modular learning through the Red Phoenix MILES (Maximum Impact Learning Solution) where knowledge and skills acquisition can be enjoyed from the luxury of home. Better teaching tools, strategies, as well as immersive virtual environments have been advanced to cater to both academic and extracurricular endeavors. Research, student governance, club involvement, entrepreneurship, and community service also get to be spotlighted as part of the various academic and non-academic pursuits that a learner can participate in in the online classroom.

College Department

The College of Business & Accountancy is geared towards producing globally competitive graduates receptive to the needs of the industry, logically atoned, and spiritually inclined.  Pooled with experts and industry practitioners in the field, varied and modified approaches to learning, and technologically empowered, graduates acquire advanced knowledge and skills ideal in the conception of more innovative perspectives, ideas, and strategies.

Guided by the four (4) core virtues of the College – Diligence, Sincerity, Loyalty, and Courage, graduates could either be proactive employees or an entrepreneur in the making. The College provides a meaningful academic life bundled with a holistic approach of developing a total human package – responsible and integrated, emotionally upheld, and community-related.

The College of Business and Accountancy offers three (3) distinguish Bachelor’s Degree Programs: Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA), Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information System (BS AIS), and Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BS Ent.) with the following concentrations:  Agribusiness, Micro-finance, and Distribution.

Foreign Language Department

The English Program for Foreign Learners (EPFL) is an intensive English language course offered to the foreign learners of Hua Siong College of Iloilo. The program is designed to meet the educational goals of learners of different English abilities, from beginner to university level, with its holistic and balanced approach in grammar, writing, comprehension, and conversation. It is tailored specifically to the needs of Grade 10 to 12 foreign learners as they prepare for university.

Our fully qualified and experienced English language teachers use the latest teaching methods in English learning. We establish detailed course plans which help each learner achieve their educational objectives. It also provides a substantial time allotment, with comfortable pacing of lessons in each level, which makes EPFL the perfect place to study English for academic purposes.

Our center is located on the 3rd floor of Hua Siong College of Iloilo, Ledesco Campus, which is nestled in the midst of a tranquil subdivision for our learners to have a conducive environment, but does not hamper socialization and participation in school activities, honing their skills and talent not only with Academic English but also with the culture of other foreign and local learners as it greatly contributes to their overall learning process.

The present health concern is not a hindrance in providing excellent service to our learners regardless of their location. Our center is equipped with the latest and reliable Internet system and connectivity in order to secure efficient delivery of lessons and other learning essentials. We offer other modalities and are in constant search of other Internet applications in order to reach learners from any part of the globe.

Our English language teachers are all Certified Google Educators, making them the most qualified. They are skilled in utilizing suitable learning management systems in order to help each learner achieve their educational objectives wherever they may be.
